I am also a qualified Nurse and have worked in the field of Nursing for many years. I became interested in the field of Complementary Medicine over 20 years ago and I completed two years in-depth training as a Natural Practitioner to cover a wide holistic area which included counselling, first aid, homeopathy and kinesiology. I decided to specialise in reflexology, aromatherapy, massage, advanced massage and nutrition.I am passionate about using natural medicine to complement allopathic/medical treatment or alone as an holistic form of treatment. I have nearly 20 years experience in my field.
My nursing experience includes working in a busy GP unit, and I have worked part time with Barchester Care homes for many years. I have seen many people there with various medical conditions; the elderly, but also young, head-injured residents with conditions including multiple sclerosis and cerebral palsy.
I continue to work at a Barchester Care Home in Wokingham, where I have been of service for some 15 years.
I also have 20 years experience seeing clients from all walks in life, with many various conditions, in my clinic in Maidenhead and whilst home visiting. It has been and still remains so satisfying to see improvements in people's lives.
I have experience treating clients with conditions of infertility, stress, insomnia, back and muscular problems, IBS and multiple sclerosis, to name a few.
There is no miracle here. It is, I believe, a safe and very pleasant/non invasive way of supporting and helping the client heal themselves.
Many people come just for relaxation reasons. They may be going through a particularly stressful period, may be not sleeping well, or may want to treat themselves by having a massage or reflexology session to unwind. You can be assured of a calm, comfortable ambience, and a listening ear.
I have diplomas from the Raworth College of Natural Medicine and from ITEC (International Therapy Examination Council) in Anatomy and Physiology, Massage, Aromatherapy, Nutrition and Reflex Zone Therapy (Reflexology).
I am a full member of The Association of Reflexologists and attend their and various other national and local seminars to keep current.
This includes;
Attendance at Advanced Reflexology Training (ART)workshops and seminars, a certificate in ART on the hormonal/endocrine system; a certificate in Facial Reflexology by Lone Sorensen - excellent, I believe, for treating Stress disorders and for neurological problems; Advanced Nutrional lectures by internationally renowned Nutritionist Patrick Holford on the Secrets of Health, to name but one, and also by Jane Plant on cutting your Cancer Risk.
I also have much experience in seeing clients with fertility problems, many of whom have gone on to become pregnant. I have had the privilege of then seeing them for reflexology and massage treatments during their pregnancies and after delivery!
I have recently also trained in Levels 1 and 2 Reiki, which I can now offer either alone as a treatment, or combined with reflexology or aromatherapy.
Clients find that Aromatherapy and Reflexology can be very relaxing, but more than this these treatments are, I believe, therapeutic - supporting the mind and body to heal themselves.
